An Apollo Alternative for Investor Outreach: InvestorLists.vc vs Apollo.io (2026)
Apollo bundles data and sequencing brilliantly. Here is the investor-outreach workflow it requires, and how a verified one-time investor file compares (and combines) with it.

Details below were checked in July 2026 against Apollo's published pages and the linked third-party tests. Their offering changes over time, so see apollo.io for current details.
Apollo might be the best value in all of sales software, and founders with sales experience reach for it instinctively when a raise starts. This comparison is about what carries over and what does not, because the two products solve different halves of the same problem.
What Apollo does brilliantly
Apollo bundles a database of hundreds of millions of B2B contacts with filters, enrichment, intent data and, most importantly, built-in email sequencing, from a free tier up through plans at $49 to $119 per user per month (apollo.io/pricing, as of July 2026). No other tool at founder prices packages data and outreach automation this completely. If your startup runs outbound sales, you should probably have Apollo regardless of how you source investor data.
The investor-outreach workflow on Apollo
Investors live inside Apollo as one persona among millions, so building an investor list means constructing filters, judging which results are active venture check-writers, and verifying what you export. That verification step is good practice with any large generalist database, and catch-all domains deserve particular attention, which is why handling them is a core step of our own published methodology. The workflow works; it simply costs founder-hours during the exact weeks they are scarcest.
The same job, arriving finished
Our database is that workflow completed to a specialist standard before you pay: active US VC firms only, every firm with a live website check, a named decision-maker, and a personal work email that passed SMTP verification with catch-all domains excluded plus a second pass with an independent tool, $497 once, in an Excel file that loads into Apollo in about a minute.
Choose Apollo if
You want sequencing, enrichment and a massive general database in one subscription, and you have the time to filter and re-verify for the investor use case. As a sales platform it is the category's best deal.
The bottom line for a founder raising now
This is the rare vs-page where the answer can be both: Apollo is a world-class sending engine, and our file is verified fuel. Load the database into Apollo's sequencer, within Apollo's import terms, and you get the strongest version of each product. And if you only buy one thing for the raise, buy the data, because a sequencer cannot fix an email that bounces. See the database and read the methodology.
